Golmaal: Endless Fun
Directed by Rohit Shetty, this 2006 film is a slapstick comedy that everyone can enjoy. It is packed with funny scenes that will have the audience laughing out loud. From Arshad Warsi impersonating the lead character in Black to Gopal saying “That’s what beauty pageants are for” to Dadi sweeping the floor and making Lucky go crazy, it has it all.
Damar
This 2007 film is considered a comedy gem. Directed by Indra Kumar, it stars Sanjay Dutt, Ritesh Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Aashish Chaudhary, Javed Jaffrey, Asrani, Sanjay Mishra and Vijay Raaz. The film focuses on four men who are desperate for gold and follow a hidden treasure while being watched by the police. Every scene and turn of events on the way to Goa is entertaining.
Hangama
This list wouldn’t be complete without Hungama. Priyadarshan’s Hungama has a ton of comedy moments, from the imaginary fight scene between Jeetu (Akshay Khanna) and Nandu (Aftab Shivdasani) in Videocon to Rajpal Yadav checking into a budget hotel. It’s guaranteed to make you laugh out loud every time you watch it.
Katta Meeta
Starring Akshay Kumar, this film tells the story of a builder and his humorous encounters. From Akshay’s stunt of jumping off a moving autorickshaw to his scenes with actor Rajpal Yadav, the film is packed with hilarious moments. The bulldozer scene, in which Akshay and Rajpal co-star with Johnny Lever, is also a blast.
Kapoor & Sons
Starring Alia Bhatt, Fawad Khan and Siddharth Malhotra, the film is specially teased at the link below with a chaotic plumber scene starring Rajat Kapoor, Siddharth, Fawad and Ratna Pathak Shah. It’s entertaining because it’s relatable.
Doll
It’s difficult to pick just one comedy scene from the film, which also stars Tusshar Kapoor, Sharman Joshi, Kunal Kemmu, Rajpal Yadav and the late Om Puri. The story of four guys trying to give the girl next door a chance wreaks havoc in their lives, evolving into a comedy of errors.
Delhi Belly
The film is a dark comedy and holds a special place in the genre. There is one package mix-up scene that is considered a hit amongst movie buffs. It is Vijay Raaz’s deadpan look and obvious remarks that make the scene extremely funny. There is also a memorable scene where he messes with orange juice and laundry service.
Hera Pheri
This film is one of the greatest comedies in Bollywood history. Not only did it establish Akshay Kumar’s dominance in the genre, but his friendship with Paresh Rawal and Sunil Shetty led to some hilarious adventures. From Babu Bhaiya’s quotable lines to its portrayal of a lower-middle-class family, director Priyadarshan’s film has achieved cult status.
