Alexandra Daddario and Finn Wittrock are set to launch on Tuesday, leading the American first biopic of Chocolate, Dandelion Media and The Hershey Company.
According to a press release, “Mean Girls” director Mark Waters is written and written by Sharon Paul and Timothy Michael Hayes, following Milton Hershey’s “A rich journey from rags and his deep impact on the world.”
The “American Horror Story” actor will be playing Chocolatier Milton, and the “White Lotus” actress will play philanthropist wife Kitty Hershey. Filming is expected to begin in May, including locations in Hershey, Pennsylvania, for its 2026 release.
“For all the possibilities, Milton was extremely successful, but unlike many other wealthy men of his time, he shared success with the workers and the community around him,” Waters shared in a statement. “The heart of the film “Hershey” is a special love story between Milton and Katherine Hershey. He influenced his greatest legacy, the creation of Milton Hershey’s school.
“The Milton Hershey story exemplifies the American Dream,” agreed Michelle Buck, president and CEO of Hershey Company. “The film reveals how Milton and Kitty have built something much bigger than the chocolate company. Their legacy goes beyond the sweet treats of thousands of people to educate, community and opportunity. We are proud to support a film that shares a complete Hershey story.
Producers include Paul, Mark Tillman of Dandelion Media, Mary Aloe, Daniel Hank and Will Hardy of Aloe Entertainment, Josh Harris and Joan Marlowe as finance partners.
Furthermore, Dandelion media promises historical accuracy as Hershey’s historic archives are screened for the first time. “‘Hershey’ celebrates imagination, generosity, and of course chocolate delights,” they teased.
