It’s been almost a year since Alvarodias released his hugely popular 2024 project GoodbyeBut now he’s back more. The Puerto Rican artist is entering a new era for Albarito by reuniting with his latest track, “Paranoia,” with veteran producers and frequent collaborators Tainy.

Diaz opens the track with his signature air horn sound and places his uneasy style of attack on full display as he crows desperately to keep his lover from leaving him. He shares the deepest, most anxious thoughts and feelings that gush out as his lover begins to separate. It’s Diaz from his sadboy days and is trying to hold it as tightly as he can.

Details from Rolling Stone

The accompanying music video was inspired by the 2023 film Biker dar Emphasises rappers’ preferences for pop culture Easter eggs. Directed by the movement and with a creative direction from the rapper herself, it features a ruthless femme fatale when she pivots seamlessly from lover to lover. Sheen emphasizes the truck’s desperate subject as Diaz lurks behind the door, waiting outside the house for his turn to wipe out the woman.

“Paranoia” follows Diaz’s success Goodbye Tours and releases of several collaborations featuring Nathy Peluso, Marc Seguí and NSQK. In addition to the release, Díaz is preparing for a big performance, returning to his home country of Hato Rey, seeking a sold-out two-night performance to a crowd of 22,000 loyal fans at the famous Coliseo de Puerso Rico José Miguel Agrelot.

The new single closes what was a major chapter of Diaz Goodbye. “I made this album when I was in a situation where I felt like my life was dependent on it,” he told Rolling Stone last year. “I’ve been struggling to create this, so now seeing all the blessings means the world to me. It means I can trust my vision.
