Despite the cancellation, the show was extremely successful in its first three seasons. The first season was the most watched series Premier of the Year on Prime Video in 2021, and was one of the releases of the top five series on the platform.
Viewers skated a bit in recent seasons, but Prime Video executives actually praised the show for being creatively superior each season. This is also reflected in the important reception as Season 3 was rated as an impressive 97% with rotten tomatoes. This increased by 81% in Season 1 from an 86% rating in Season 2.
As the deadline points out, the end of season 3 was written in a way that offered fans some closure, but they would definitely be disappointed with the decision.
