Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan will be awarded the prestigious 3rd Lata Dinanath Mangeshkar Award for his outstanding dedication to the nation, people and society, the Mangeshkar family announced on Tuesday.
Previous recipients of this prestigious award include Prime Minister Narendra Modi and popular singer Asha Bhosale.
The Lata Dinanath Mangeshkar Award was established by Mr. Dinath Mangeshkar Smriti Pratishthan on February 6, 2022 in memory of the late Bharat Ratna Award winner and legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar. Several other luminaries were also honored for their outstanding contributions to the field.
Pratishthan has decided to award the Master Dinath Mangeshkar Award to several others, including the music award to music director AR Rahman and veteran Marathi actor Ashok Saraf. Padmini Kolhapure in the movie. Indian music singer Roopkumar Rathod. Marathi theater actor Atul Palchule. and former teacher and literary writer Manjiri Padke. Additionally, actor, producer and director Randeep Hooda received a special award for his contribution to cinema.
Marathi play 'Ghalib' wins Mohan Wagh Award for Best Drama. Deepstambh Foundation's Manobar Project, which provides residential training to disabled, orphaned and economically disadvantaged students, will be recognized for its outstanding social service.
Music director Hridaynath Mangeshkar told reporters while announcing the awards that 212 eminent personalities from various fields have been honored over the past 34 years. Singer Usha Mangeshkar, Hridayath's son Adinath Mangeshkar and other dignitaries attended the event.
The winners will be honored on April 24 at Dinanath Mangeshkar Natyagruha in Vile Parle.
