Nigerian gospel artists Nathaniel Bassy, Mercy Chinwa and Moses Bliss made impressive advances in the music scene, ranking among the most streamed Nigerian acts in YouTube music in the first quarter of 2025, surpassing the popular Afrobeats artists.
Data compiled by Debut Hub reveals Nathaniel Bassey’s highest ranking gospel artist with 52.8 million streams. Mercy Chinwo continued closely with 46.4 million streams, while Moses Bliss won 41.5 million streams.
Mercy Chinwo’s biggest hit, “Excess Love,” accumulated an astounding 133 million streams, solidifying its place as one of her signature songs. Nathaniel Bassy’s top tracks include Yahweh Sabaos with 25 million streams, Tobechukwu (the mercy Chinwo is blessed), and Yes Aye, which reached a stream of 39 million, contributed to his success.
In the overall top 20 rankings, Nathaniel Bassey came in 13th, Mercy Chinwo was 17th and Moses Bliss was 19th, surpassing Afrobeat artist BNXN.
Meanwhile, Lema dominated the rankings for the first quarter of 2025, earning the number one spot in Nigeria, featuring Selena Gomez on his hit song “Calm Down,” accumulating an astonishing stream of 223 million, reaching a groundbreaking 2.5 billion plays.
Burna Boy took second place with a stream of 171 million, followed by Ayra Starr in third place with a stream of 169 million, surpassing Davido, who has accumulated 113 million rivers. With 102 million streams, Wizkid concluded his top five.
