On May 26th, Blake Shelton's “appearance” at the American Music Awards caused several fans to scratch their heads.
The country music star was scheduled to perform at the show, but there was one major flaw in the video of his time on stage.
Shelton performed his hit song “Stay Country or Die Tryin'” but it wasn't in front of the live crowds of Fontainebleau. From home, most viewers would have never known that Shelton's performance was actually pre-taped. But for those who attended the show in Las Vegas, they saw Shelton on the big screen (not live) and didn't cut it.
One shared a video of his performance at Tiktok, pointing out that Shelton had not been on stage despite being advertised for him to perform. It didn't take long for music fans to respond.
“The whole show could have been via email,” one person said.
“'Is Blake Shelton in the room with us?” literally someone else added.
“This year, the AMA was such a joke. Most of the awards weren't actually announced, the crowd was mostly influencers. The candidates were rarely present,” the third comment read.
“It's been cancelled for the past two years. This is definitely not the revival they wanted. I want to know why none of the big artists were shown.
Shelton was also not the only singer to pre-record the performance. In fact, his wife, Gwen Stefani, also sang during the show, but it appears she wasn't even in the building.
Blake Shelton's recent “appearance” has been extremely upsetting to fans who first appeared on May 27, 2025 at the parade
