
Already flying in three months, 2025 has been a reflective year for Bollywood so far. While looking at the 2025 industry box office statistics, there are harsh pictures.
Of the eight major films released this year, the industry has seen one blockbuster in the form of Vicki Kaushal’s “Chava.” The remaining seven were disasters or below average at best.

Fateh, Emergency, Azaad, and Sikandar are some of the names that count in the list of disasters, and Sohum Shah’s “Crazxy” and Shahid Kapoor’s Deva can be counted as flops with a collection of Rs.12 Cr. Rs.32 crores each.
Akshay Kumar’s “Sky Force” and John Abraham’s “The Diplomat” belong to the “below average” category in the collection of Rs.109 cr. and rs.38 cr. (Expected) According to the trade report, respectively.

Sky Force is also facing scrutiny on this at Rs.109 Cr. If media coverage is believed, it is mainly inflated by self-booking and block bookings.
With such a disastrous report card, it will be interesting to see if the industry can turn things around and produce more hits as the years go by.
