Casper It can be looked back as simply a sweet, child-friendly ghost story, but its sensibility is much more advanced in storytelling. Casper Friendly Ghost, a favorite character from Harvey Comics in 1995, is packed with pop culture references, from clever cameos to blinking and visual gags of youll-miss-it. Shrek (2001) and dead pool (2016).

CasperScreenwriters Deanna Oliver and Shelley Stoner told EW in 1995 that executive producer Steven Spielberg hoped the tone would help expand the fun of both children and adult film fans. Stoner and Oliver maintained CasperThe local gags of the series fly fast, but with a purpose – like their teleplay Animaniac or Little Toons. “You have to be humorously specific,” Oliver said. “The more specific you become, the more interesting it is.”
