A few years after it closed at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the character shop at Animation Courtyard has reopened to guests.
Reopening at the character shop

According to cast members, the shop was newly opened to guests as of Sunday, May 25th, 2025. The following year, the former show, “Voirage of the Little Mermaid,” was closed and not reopened as a result of Walt Disney World’s pandemic-related closure.

The shop signs that previously hung on these poles have long gone, but the shop is still labelled like characters on the My Disney Experience app and the Walt Disney World website.

According to the My Disney Experience app, the shop is open daily from 9am to 8pm.

Inside, guests will find products themed around “The Little Mermaid,” Disney Princesses, and Mickey & Friends.

Behind the checkout area is artwork from the animated film Ariel, with artwork featuring the counter and Sebastian.

The shop reopened a few days before the debut of “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure.” This is a new stage show that will take over the previous “Little Mermaid’s Voyage” theatre. It will open on May 27th on the same day as “Disney Villain: Unfair Ever After” at Sunset Showcase Theater.
Check out the sneak peek of the new Little Mermaid Show and look forward to our coverage once it’s open to all our guests.
