The Federal High Court in Lagos sent Nigerian Afrobeat and Apara musician Terry Alexander Eje, commonly known as Terry Apara, to the Ikoi Correction Centre following the charges of Naira’s abuse brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In the verdict on Friday, April 25th, 2025 Judge Akinteyo Arco He ordered the artist to be remanded until May 5, 2025, and his bail application was asked and decided.
The singer was arrested in court on one count of naira abuse filed by the EFCC. The committee claimed that Eje had stomped the currency while dancing at a social event at Madison Place in Onir, Lagos Island.
Anti-transplant agency lawyer, Slimon Slimanand then asked the court to read the charges against the defendant so that he could make a plea.

However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges and urged Sulaiman to request a trial date and remand for the defendant, who is in custody at the Nigerian Correctional Centre.
However, the artist’s advice, Felix Nwakbudunotified the court of pending bail applications filed on behalf of the client.
Nwakbudu revealed that prosecutors had been provided with a copy of the bail summons Friday morning and appealed to the court so that he could move the application.
However, EFCC lawyers opposed the hearing of the bail application on the grounds that it would take time to study the application and respond appropriately.
Judge Arco then ordered the remand of Terry Appala at the Ikoi Corrections Centre, as he was waiting for a bail application hearing and decision.
