One passenger on the Carnival Spirit reported that other guests wearing different coloured jeans on the ship’s official night, wrote a complaint message to brand ambassador John Heald.
“Jeans are denim…it really doesn’t matter about the colour. You shouldn’t wear it on formal nights. It’s not a denim in any colour. This is why Carnival has a reputation. [Transatlantic]. Last night I counted at least 1/2 dozen men and women [wearing] Jeans for formal nights. [Passengers] People who aren’t [respect] Rules should be kicked out of the main dining hall and sent to the buffet. If the crew refuses to do this, you [lose] More and more [passengers]… “
Passengers denounced the Carnival’s bad reputation on the official dinner night with a seemingly relaxed dress code. They suggested that the cruise line remove anyone wearing jeans from the main dining room and escort them to the buffet.

Although the guidelines can be found on the Carnival website, Heald’s response to the complaint appears to suggest that Cruise Lines are in fact more tolerant, thanks to Cruise’s elegant fashion policy.
“Jeans, don’t wear and enjoy your meal. Enjoy the service from your family and friends’ company and the amazing crew. It’s simple.”

However, several commenters wrote that passengers should simply follow the dress code, as they are readily available for reviews online.
“In all fairness, that’s true [an] Elegant nights, and if you don’t want to dress like that, don’t eat in the dining room. You know that and get on the boat [expectation] Dress code. Anyone can read it. ”
