Dele Sosimi, Afrobeat Ambassador, musician and educator for Nigeria and the UK, has been at the heart of the global Afrobeat scene since moving to the UK in December 1995. all over the world. More than 40 years later, he remains a tireless ambassador of unique musical movements around the world. His intricate funk grooves, traditional Nigerian music, African percussion and underlying jazz sense combine his master keyboard skills with rhythmic singing to become one of the most respected Afrobeat authorities of his time. Hackney-born, UK-based Dele performs across the globe, from the Montrujazz Festival to the Mawazin Festival held in Rabato Morocco. Mexico’s Olin Kahn, Korea and Copenhagen Jazz Festival. Dele is Fela from the National Theatre! He was also the Afrobeat Music Consultant produced by the film, and often performed with fellow Tony Allen. Dele’s pioneering musicality has created collaborations with impressive artists such as Afro-Latin Cubafrobeat, Lokkhi Terra and Eparapo, led by Ewakumo 21 (Cape, Wear Cape, Fly), Electronic Artists Medlar and Qness, Afro-Latin Cubafrobeat, Lokkhi Terra, and Dsao Bassist, Composer, Proder Proder Suman Joshi.
