Main Street in North Little Rock’s Argenta District will be closed from Broadway to 5th Avenue for the spring final Dog Town Slowdownfrom 4pm to 10pm on Fridays to 10pm on Saturdays. This month’s theme is “Backyard Bite.” Participants can try barbecue-inspired specials, summer drinks, music and the outdoor vendor market.
The Friday night musical act is Dakota at 7pm on the main stage at 420 Main, next to the Argenta Library. The Southern Soul Band Red & The Reverers will perform on Saturday at 7pm.
According to a news release, the library and First Security Bank host hands-on summer crafts, outdoor games and “interactive fun.” From 10am to 2pm, the North Little Rock Animal Shelter mobile adoption unit will be looking for a permanent home starting at 9am. Saturday’s two vendor markets showcase local artisans and manufacturers. 2-6pm at Flyway Brewin, 314 Maple Cent, 2-6pm, 11-6am at Argenta Plaza, 510 Main.

Net Final Vinyl
William F. Raman Public Library, 2801 Orange Street, North Little Rock, is hosted in partnership with Little Rock Shop Control Records Free vinyl swapon Saturdays from 9:30am to 12:30pm in the studio on the second floor of the library, with free coffee and pastries and live DJs. According to a news release, all striped music lovers can trade records and “celebrate the enduring charm of Vinyl” to fellow collectors. “(b) You’re ready to play some records and discover something new in return. AMFA Concert Series
Lisa Fisher and Grand Baton will blend soul, jazz and rock at the Arkansas Museum of Art’s Performing Arts Theatre, Little Rock, kick-off of the museum’s 2025-26 concert series at 7:30pm on September 11th at the Arkansas Museum of Art’s Performing Arts Theatre.
The Grammy Award-winning singer, Fisher, has attracted attention as a backing singer for the Rolling Stones and Luther Vandross, and earned additional recognition through the Oscar-winning documentary “From 20 Feet From Stardom.”

The Central Arkansas Library System is offering second-hand books on sale from Fridays to 10pm to 2pm and Thursdays from 2pm to 5pm at 7773 Sloan Drive, Port Industrial Hub in Little Rock. (Take exit 4 from Interstate 440 East – if you’re from downtown Little Rock, it’s one exit beyond Little Rock Airport. Turn right onto Lindsay Road, then turn right towards Morney Road, then head to Frasier Pike/Sloan Drive. Also $2 sealed boxes containing many books in the same subject and genre. The proceeds benefit the Cals Foundation, which provides funding to support Six Bridges Book Festival, Summer @Cals, Book Club Kit, Branch Grants and various other library programs.
