According to the host of Planckster’s talk show, it may be difficult to imagine an Oscar ceremony where Eric Andre leaves for the best supporting actor award. Andre says Jesse Eisenberg offered him the same role in “real pain” and Kieran Culkin ended up winning an Oscar.

Speaking about Andrew Santino’s “Whiskey Ginger” podcast, Andre said, “Two years ago Jesse Eisenberg called me… it was offered to me [‘A Real Pain’] Kieran Culkin got his role at Oscar. I was like, “It’s really miserable and doesn’t seem to be in my lane.” I read the script. I was like, “I went to Poland for six weeks and it just seemed like a bawdy and sad about the Holocaust.” ”

As the official logline for “A Real Pain” reads, “After the death of their beloved Holocaust Servicer’s grandmother, two estranged cops embark on a trip to Poland and find an understanding of the family history that was tested to reunite with heritage.”
Kieran Culkin gave Andre Jesus to the same part, beating out Oscar nominees such as Edward Norton (“The Complete Unknown”), Guy Pierce (“Brutalist”), and his “Succession” co-star Jeremy Strong (“Apprentice”).
“I’m ‘Thank you for the offer. I think it’s great. I don’t think that’s what I’m looking for right now,” recalls Andre. “Motherf–El won an Oscar for the role I gave him. That’s not to say I’m always offered a role. [DiCaprio]. ”
Andre is best known for his wild and often surreal comedy series, “Eric Andre Show,” but he plays outside the series. He gave a fair amount of audio acting for his animation project, particularly due to the Netflix fantasy series “Disillusionment”. He will also appear as an antagonist in Season 2 of HBO’s “The Righteous Gemstones.”
Kieran Culkin has been acting with his brothers since the early 90s, but his broad acclaim really took off as Rome’s Roy on the HBO hit “Supen.” His next project is as the voice of voice in Andy Serkis’ George Orwell’s adaptation of “Animal Farm.”
