Blumhouse head Jason Blum, as he knows, dressed up to debut the first trailer Five nights at Freddie’s.
At Cinemacon on Wednesday, producers were dressed head-to-toe in something similar to what the franchise’s murderous animatronic figure adapted to the popular video game series.
“first 5 nights at Freddie’s Blum was proud of it from the stage. He admitted that exhibitors weren’t excited that the first film was released daily at Peacock, but assured the crowd that the new film would only be released in theaters.
The trailer teases more ridiculous things, including a pizzeria with Josh Hutcherson’s character in the functioning pizzeria. “They’re there, Mike,” Elizabeth Rail says on the footage. After Hutcherson asks what that means, she clarifies, “anywhere.”
Piper Rubio and Matthew Lillard Soter are the sequel to the original 2023 film, directed by Emma Tammy. Five nights at Freddie’s 2 It will be hit in theaters on December 5th.
first 5 nights at Freddie’s The film focuses on a pizzeria guard (Hatcherson). The film is based on a video game franchise of the same name that debuted in 2014.
The first film won Blumhouse’s best ever opening weekend for $80 million in the country, despite its streaming release on Peacock. Tammi will direct the sequel from a script co-written with Scott Cawson and Seth Cudbach.
Universal announced last year’s Cinemacon that a sequel is in work. Tamimi, who directed the first film, said earlier Hollywood Reporter Possible follow-up: “There are some loose ends I think I have to come back to the sequel to be tied up.”
Cinemacon is the annual event for exhibitors and Hollywood Studios, which will be held from March 31st to April 3rd this year. This was announced by CinemaUnited (formerly the National Association of Theater Owner).
