From outdoor markets and concerts to movies, cruise nights and exercise classes, there’s something for almost everyone with the free and monthly summer events that will take place in and around Elgin over the coming months.
Here’s a summary of what’s scheduled.
Dundee Township Park District
Concerts in the park: Live music will be unveiled every Tuesday through June 3rd at the Rotating Series parks in Carpentersville, West Dundee, East Dundee and Sleepy Hollow from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM and every Tuesday through 7:30 PM. The first of June 3rd features Fortunate Sons at Carpenter Park at 275 Maple Ave., Creedence Clearwater Revival Tribute Act Act Carpentersville.
Family Fun Night: Family-friendly activities will be served from 6-7:30pm on Wednesday, June 11th, 811 Tartan Drive in West Dundee, 6-7:30pm on Wednesday, July 16th, and at Lions Park in East Dundee from 6-7:30pm.
Outdoor yoga: Yoga classes will be held on Saturdays June 7th to August 23rd from 8am to 9am at the Randall Oaks Park Back Shelter at 1180 N. Randall Road, West Dundee.

East Dundee
Depot Market: The market will be available every Saturday from 9am to noon, from October 25th to 319 N. River St. outside the depot, visit eastdundee.net/things_to_do/the_depot.php.
East Dundee Depot
The Depot Market is open every Saturday in downtown East Dundee. (East Dundee Village)
Thirsty Thursday: Live music will be announced outside the depot from 6pm to 9pm on May 22nd, June 26th, July 24th and August 28th. Wine on Wednesday: Live music will be announced at the Depot on Wednesday June 11th, July 9th and Wednesday August 13th from 6pm to 9pm. The first concert features funk and Soul Sound of Horizon. Motor Monday Cruise Night: The Midwest Racing Preservation Association will hold its monthly car shows on Mondays from 5pm until dusk on June 16th, July 21st, August 18th and September 15th. For more information, go to eastdundee.net/things_to_do/village_community_events/motor_monday.php.
Elgin
Downtown Elgin Market: Featuring a wide selection of produce, baked goods, other foods, plants and other items, the market will be open along downtown Riverside Drive, May 23rd to October 10th from 3am to 7pm. Concerts in the park: Live music will be unveiled every Friday through 8:30am from June 5th to August 14th, where the Wing Park Bandshell and Lords Park Pavilion are alternated between 1010 Wing St. and 100 Oakwood Blvd. The June 5th concert will be held at Wing Park and features the Aurora American Legion Band, which plays patriotic music. Park Movies: Screenings begin every Friday until August 15th at dusk at revolving parks such as Festival, Meyer, Wing, Malbee Grove, Century Oaks, Rose Park, and Mallie Grolich. Lawn Movie: Screenings begin at dusk on Saturdays June 11th, July 19th and August 16th, outside Hemmens Cultural Center at 45 Symphony Way. The June 21st movie will be “Dirty Dance.” For more information, visit elginil.gov/2620/movies-on-the-lawn.
South Elgin
Concerts in the park: Live music will be announced at Pantone Mill Park, 10 N. Water St., Wednesday from May 28th to September 10th, from 6:30pm to 8pm. Food trucks are on site.
Lunchtime concert: Live music will be held from noon to 1:30pm on May 29th, September 4th and September 11th at Panton Mill Park. The first concert of the year is Billy Elton, a tribute band that performs songs by Elton John and Billy Joel.
Movie Night: The family film will be shown at dusk at Panton Mill Park on July 20th, August 8th, Friday, August 8th and Saturday, September 20th. The first film of the season is “Moana 2” where concessions will be available.
Cruise Night: The car will be on display at Panton Mill Park on Tuesdays June 17th, July 15th and August 19th from 6pm to 8pm. The food truck and dairy queen are on site.
Zumba: Classes will be held at Panton Mill Park Stage on Tuesday, June 10th, July 8th and August 12th from 6:30 to 7:30pm.

West Dundee
French Market: The market, operated by Bensidoun USA, debuts on May 23rd and will be held every Friday through August 22nd from 4pm to 8pm outside the Pump House.
Finally, Friday: Live music will be announced outside Pumphouse from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, May 30th, June 27th, July 25th and August 22nd.
