Roger Spark – Have you ever wanted to try a martini named after your favorite Roger Spark Street? There may be something you’re looking for in a new neighborhood bar.
The Glenwood Martini Bar opened last week at 6958 N. Glenwood Avenue, next to the longtime Glenwood Bar. The nearby Martini Lounge now occupies previously used space for private parties at Glenwood Bar.
Opened in 2008, Glenwood Bar is a classic neighbourhood tavern, but Glenwood Martini Bar has a sophisticated environment and focuses on live performances. The LGBTQ Martini Bar features live entertainment such as Go-Go Dancers and Drag Performers every Friday through Sunday.
Tracy described his new bar as “a place where neighbors become friends.”
“The martini bar is where people have a conversation,” Tracy said. “There’s no TV in that place. The music is different and more relaxed. Unlike Glenwood, [which] There are eight TVs, something like a beer and a shot bar, which is concentrated on cocktails. ”
The drink menu includes an array of cocktails, mules and martinis ($12). Drinks include: Morse Avenue, Classic Martini. Chase Ave., a martini with vodka, cranberry juice and a triple section. Or Touhy Ave., a martini with tequila, cranberry and lime juice.
Glenwood Martini Bar followed Friday on the soft opening on March 26th, with warm weather that allowed for live performances and use of outdoor seating on Glenwood Avenue, Tracy said.
“I think people are excited about something different in the neighborhood,” Tracy said.
The Glenwood Martini Bar is open Wednesday through Sunday from 6pm to 2pm.
