Hollywood, Los Angeles – “Grey's Anatomy” actress Ellen Pompeo is one of the shining stars on television, and she has been around for 20 years. On Tuesday, she received her own shining star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Pompeo was a leading woman for many years in hit medical dramas. Apart from playing Meredith Gray, she also serves as the show's executive producer.
The award-winning actress said she thought about the meaning of this moment.
“Business and this town are changing so much, and for that reason, we hope to continue this tradition, and we can literally live out the production in this city and its city.
Pompeo spent 21 seasons on “Glaze Anatomy,” and she emphasized her gratitude to her fans.
“I mean, fans know how grateful we are. I'll talk for everyone on 'Glaze'. We are all very grateful to our fans,” she said.
Those who have travelled understand the impact she had on the way.
“Millions of young girls from around the world have gone to university and been involved and invested in medical professionals for you,” said actress Debbie Allen, who spoke at the ceremony.
“You're a living, breathing icon and you don't need a star to tell you, but it's certainly great to see the truth written in stone,” said Chondah Rymes, creator of “Grey's Anatomy.”
Before she hit gold in “Grey's Anatomy,” we saw Pompeo in the episode of “Friends.” Plus, in films like “Dardevil,” “Old School,” and with “Catch Me You” with Leonardo DiCaprio.
In 2007, Pompeo was nominated for Golden Globe for her role and won the 2007 Screen Actors Guild Award.
At her ceremony, Pompeo brought us back to her early days.
“Dash Mihock, I'm looking at you. I slept on his couch when I came here. I didn't have the money so I said, 'Eren, you can stay in my house,'” Pompeo explained.
“There were some dishes, I mean, she's Italian. She's from Boston. I'm from New York, so I'm from a little bit of a conflict, but she's just a giver and she's always been.
Pompeo and her “Glaze” castmates are preparing for the big season finale. It will be displayed on ABC on May 15th.
