Conservatives struggled to get involved in culture for years, and in some cases they were willing to leave the space radically left. So Adrian Gray says, “I always felt like a black swan in the conservative movement.”
Many conservatives “condemn pop culture. We oppress it a lot because, again, we don’t match the many values and activism that are continuing with celebrities, but we believe that God created art to enjoy art,” Gray told Daily Signal.
A conservative pop culture specialist and host of “Daily Pop,” Gray aims to be part of a “new wave” that allows conservatives to establish themselves in the fields of art and culture, while excelling in culture, while political rights excel in the culture.
Trends within entertainment indicate a growing consumer desire for content that does not aim to promote the left-wing political agenda.
Disney’s recently released live action film “Snow White” has been nervous about the “political correct” way of portraying the seven dwarves, and ultimately brought the CGI version of the dwarves, which film critics gave film critics a 42% rating. Meanwhile, actress Rachel Zeggler, who plays Snow White, promoted the film’s focus on the women’s independence strength, while downplaying the story’s classic romantic storyline.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the film won $86.1 million worldwide ($42.2 million domestically) over the opening weekend. It’s far below the film’s $100 million opening weekend goal, and far below the success of other classic Disney princess-style films’ box office. In the opening weekend of 2015, Cinderella earned $132.5 million worldwide, and in 2017 Beauty and the Beast won $350 million.
“We found ourselves in potential bomb territory with a production budget of $270 million before a marketing cost of around $100 million,” a Hollywood reporter noted.
This week’s edition of “The Problemed Women” shares Gray’s conversations about the roles conservatives can play within pop culture, and discusses why “Snow White” failed to meet the expectations of movie fans.
Today’s show also discusses President Donald Trump’s executive order aimed at dismantling the president’s actions to freeze the president’s actions into planned parent-child relationships.
Additionally, we bid farewell to the longtime “troubled women” and co-hosted Kristen Eichmer as Kristen H.s. on a new adventure at the Department of Commerce.
