Sophie Chowdhury revealed the harsh reality she faced while trying to enter Bollywood as an actor.

Sophie Chowdhury reveals that she is being asked to “adjust” the film’s role in Bollywood. She left her major projects as she cast a couch experience early in her career.
There are many unpleasant truths in Bollywood that rarely reach the forefront of conversation. One such persistent problem is the presence of casting sofas. It is a deeply troublesome reality that has been recognized by many, but is hardly addressed in meaningful ways. Recently, actor singer Sophie Choudhry has revealed her early days in the industry, shedding light on the dream of a fascinating acting career soon clashing with a volatile reality.
In a candid chat with Hauterrfly, Sophie recalled how she entered Bollywood with confidence in the successful music career behind her. Enthused to transition to acting, she began to meet her mother and people by her side. “Some people were lovely,” she said. At the time, we didn’t know what it really meant. ”
Over time, Sophie began to recognize the true intention behind those words. She shared that due to these unsaid requests, she must move away from several important opportunities. “There’s this assumption that if you come from abroad, you have to be ‘easy’. I was willing to follow such behavior, so I had to move away from some big things,” she said.
She recalled hearing lines from insiders who made their intentions clear by pretending to be professional interests. “All of a sudden they want to see you frequently, saying things like, ‘I want to know my heroine’, ‘My marriage is falling apart.’ They talk about deep connections and how much they enjoy your company.
Sophie also addresses the assumption that when she becomes friends with someone who has an influential role in the industry, she has easy access to opportunities. Talking to the screen, she revealed that despite having famous friends like Karan Johar, Varun Dhawan and Manish Malhotra, their relationships have never been translated into professional support. “People think they helped me because I know them, but no one has it. Friendship doesn’t automatically open the door in this industry. That’s a myth,” she said.
