Philip Michael Scale will perform on Saturday, May 10th, 2025 at Stock Room East in South Bend.
Scales released their debut album, “Sinner-Songwriter” in 2021, followed by the singles “Leaning On the Flatr”, “Be My My Man” and “Can’t Get Get Get of”, making their debut at number one on Spotify’s “Ready for the Day” editing playlist.
On April 25th, he released his second album, “Good To Be Nere,” produced by Grammy-nominated producer Dan Nobler (Lake Street Dive, Allison Russell, Bahamas).
According to a press release, the album does not build the brick-by-brick of his dreams, the journey of an artist who has no record labels or virus hits.
Scale calls his music “dive bar soul.” This is a blend of indie rock storytelling and blues’ passion, the press release says it will lead to the old-fashioned grit of Stax Records Soul.
Born in Michigan, later based in Chicago, before moving to his current home in Nashville, Scale grew up with BB King, who called him “ne.”
He previously performed as the opening act of Kevmee’ at Stockroom East in May 2024 and at Lerner Theatre in Elkhart in June 2024.
Singer-songwriter Julia James, from Northern Indiana, is opening.
