Movie cast war Announced, people were confused – what did many of the internet boyfriends do in gritty, realistic films about the dangers of war?
The film stars Heartslob from several projects loved by young people, like Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things), Kit Conner (Heart Stopper), Charles Melton (Riverdale), d’pharaoh woon-a-tai (Reserved dog) and Noah Centino (To all the boys I loved before). Outstanding outs from famous projects also stars like Will PoulterBear), Michael Gandolfini (Many saints in Newark) and Cosmo Jarvis (General).
civil war Writer-director Alex Garland wrote and directed the film along with Ray Mendoza, based on the memory of Mendoza, whose mission was lost during the Iraq War as a seal of the former US Navy.
After the casting was announced, people began questioning whether it was all stunts. Was A24 trying to take advantage of the parasocial relationship where so many young people have to come to this cast to watch brutal movies? Did these actors come out to prove they can do much more than what the audience has come to expect from them?
Most of the films unfold in real time, so the characters are not given a backstory. The audience’s first impressions of Navy seals come from what they already know about the actors they play.
Quinn told Yahoo Entertainment that he doesn’t think about how the audience perceives him as himself in the film because “it’s a very fast route to madness.”
“A very interesting aspect of the film was the fact that it doesn’t patronize the audience or spoon-fed a particular agenda or backstory about any of these characters,” he said. “I’m very brave at the fact that you can present these people in a situation and then develop a film from there. If you start a film and think, ‘You’re going to think Kit Connor is in this,’ then you’re going to say, ‘You’re nothing.’
Connor told Yahoo Entertainment that the actor status in the cast “doesn’t infringe on the immersive nature of the film” and “he sincerely hopes.”
“If that’s the case, I hope it runs out very quickly,” he added.

Garland told Kat that it was very important to cast someone to “the age at which men are sent to combat,” but he didn’t cast Connor because he wanted to destroy it.
“I didn’t know about it, so I had no problem getting away from the beating of his heart!” Garland said.
Video of the opening scene of war It’s released and if there’s no context, it’s misleading. It shows a dancer wearing a leotard holding a cast gathered around the computer in his hand to watch the music video for Eric Pride’s “Call on Me” performing his workout routine. That is the final bright moment in the film.
Connor said the idea for the scene came “in the middle of the filming process.” He said it was intended to give “ideas for how they all sit in that platoon ecosystem” rather than giving them “preconceptions” about the characters.
Paulter told Yahoo Entertainment that the cast had no idea how the audience would react to the film’s parasocial, but they were all “great equalizers” to go to camp “regardless of what we all did, age or level of experience.”
“Everyone shaves their heads and when they get off on the first day of boot camp, we all start from scratch,” he said. “When it comes to representing naval seals, we all know very much how limited our skill set is compared.
Woom Atai told Yahoo Entertainment that as soon as the cast arrived at boot camp, Mendoza “confirmed that our ego was left at the door.”
“First and foremost, none of us brought it to the first place, but… we gave it all to 110% that we were our only job all year round. We gave it all with dedication.”
Jarvis plays Elliot Miller – Navy seals with traumatic brain damage in missions depicted in war. The film is dedicated to him. The rest of the cast will play the rest of the mission, but their real life counterparts decide not to reveal their identity, so they go with an alias.

Melton told Yahoo Entertainment that the project “needs absolute and complete commitment… because it’s a very personal story,” and told Mendoza, “For the veteran and his best friend. [Miller]to see what happened to him on that particular day. ”
The cast has no idea how their stardom will attract audiences. They hope people come to see the movie.
