Jeff Bridges and Jared Leto won the main stage for Cinema Con on Thursday in a light show to showcase “Tron: Ares.”
Sneak Peak starts with two tron cycles evading police on the highway. “I’m looking for something, I didn’t understand,” Bridges says.
A shot of a person who returns to life from the grid follows. “Are you ready? Because you won’t come back,” Bridges added.
The third film in the “Tron” franchise, which began in 1982, arrived this October, and Jared Leto stars as a program named Ares who found himself in the real world.
In addition to Leto as Ares, the cast includes Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaji, Jody Turner Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, Gillian Anderson, and of course, Kevin Flynn, creator of Tron’s computer world.
Following in the footsteps of electronic music pioneers Wendy Carlos and French duo Daftpunk (knee The music for “Tron: Ares” is provided by composers and nine-inch nail principals Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. Reznor and Ross have provided iconic scores for films such as “Social Network,” “The Soul,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem,” and more recently, “The Challenger” by Lucaguadanino.
According to Disney’s official overview, “Tron: Ares” follows Ares, a highly refined program. Ares is sent from the digital world to the real world, marking his first encounter with human AI Beings. ”
“It feels like a more appropriate time than ever to go back to the grid,” coach Joachim Ronning, who will take over for manager Joseph Kosinsky, said in an official statement. Rønning is a Disney regular and has turned “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil,” and “Young Women and the Sea” to the studio.
“Tron: Ares” will arrive at the theater on October 10th, 2025.
