k-pop The Girl Group agency has announced a formal apology following the controversy over the video posted to YouTube on Wednesday (April 2).
In the video, the members Julie Celebrating her birthday with the “old-school hip hop” concept.
The group quickly faced backlash online, with many social media users denounced the racist group and perpetuated black stereotypes through clothing and mannerism at the event.

On April 3, S2 Entertainment issued the following statement in English:
“Hello, this is S2 Entertainment. I want to address the issues that arise from the content uploaded to Kiss, the official YouTube of Life yesterday (April 2),” they began.
“I sincerely apologize for causing viewers to be uncomfortable. The true purpose of the content was to celebrate hip-hop culture. Kiss of life. But we apologised for our flaws in recognizing the negative cultural meanings that our content could be perceived as having,” they continued.
“Our members and teams are committed to approaching cultural references with caution, careful and respect. All related content has been removed from all channels. Thank you.”
The video has since been deleted, but the clips have floated around social media, causing more rage.

The member, who has braids from his roots, calls the other member Lil Tacos and tells Julie (who previously said Slur) to come to the birthday party he dressed up to the rapper.
