K-Pop Group Kiss of Life has announced an apology by posting a video to YouTube, which is considered racist and insensitive.
On Thursday, the group’s agency S2 Entertainment issued a statement apologizing for the video highlighting old-school hip-hop. They may not have meant harm, but people felt a different way and claimed that the video criticised them on social media.
“We would like to address the issues that arose from content uploaded to Life’s official YouTube Kiss yesterday,” S2 Entertainment wrote in a statement. “I sincerely apologize for causing viewers to be uncomfortable. The true purpose of the content was to celebrate hip-hop culture.
S2 Entertainment states, “Our members and teams are committed to approaching cultural references with caution, careful and respect. All related content from all channels has been removed.”
The apology wasn’t enough for the people on social media who shared content that other K-Pop artists have diverted cultures and shared some posts that emphasized that they are all racist in their content.
