Sean's “Diddy” Combs' so-called “freak-off” was lengthfully described by Cathy Ventura, a woman who launched a federal investigation into rap moguls at a sex trafficking and assault trial in New York on Tuesday, his ex-girlfriend and a civil complaint, whose civil complaint was arrested on a five-count indictment as “Victim 1.”
Ventura also revealed from the witness stand Tuesday that a video of her attacking her in 2016 in the hallways of a Los Angeles InterContinental Hotel shows her escape from a “freak-off” that suddenly became violent. She told the court that she had appeared in the premiere of her first big film in March 2016, and told Combs beforehand that she had told her she wanted to do a freak-off but was worried about “destroying” her body before the event. At the hotel, she remembers towards the court, and she suddenly punches her eyes by a comb, hurting her face. At this point she fled the room while he was “on the toilet or on the phone.” Ju's ju apprentice saw the fifth video footage of the subsequent horrifying assault in two days.
Ventura's arrival at Combs' trial was promoted on Monday in an opening statement by defense as a six-year reunion of the previous On and Off couple, which continued a decade-long turbulent relationship after the R&B singer signed his label, Bad Boy Records. On the first day of her testimony, the pregnant Ventura detailed the frequent explosions of violence and drug-fueled hotel rooms sexually challenged.
Combs has been accused by federal prosecutors of 20 years of abuse of women, trafficking sex workers, and turning his music and fashion empire into a criminal enterprise. He was arrested in Manhattan in September and is being held at the Brooklyn Jail. In the five counts indictment, Comb is accused of engaging in sex trafficking, assault and prostitution in transport. He denied all charges against him and said he was innocent of all the crimes he was charged with.
Prosecutor Emily Johnson asked Ventura hundreds of questions over the seven-hour period, who testified about her relationship with Combs on Tuesday. When she began her career with a bad boy, she said her manager had to do the job “one arm tied behind her back.” Ventura also testified that during the first three years of his relationship with the mogul, he helped finance his assistants and often spoke to them daily about Combs' mood. The conversation the couple had was often her body and appearance.
“The appearance was very important to him – my appearance,” Ventura said. “We had a lot of conversations about my body back then… Keeping my shape a certain way.”
Ventura sometimes testified that if she disapproves of her actions by having her take away her property, she will be punished by Combs. This included her jewels and a car, she said, and sometimes she was kicked out of her apartment. The crimes that Combs staff are involved in Ventura and he is being charged with is very important to the Fed, who prove the assault element of their prosecution and prove that the criminal enterprise existed.
Johnson moved his testimony to “freak-off” in the afternoon, asking questions about male sex workers and how they were hired, sometimes by Ventura, via a company called Craig's Live and Cowboys for Angels. The medications filmed at the event she testified included many rooms of ecstasy and MDMA, ketamine, GHB and psycaderik. Progression of sexual activity at the event. And the humiliation of being urinated at a request from combs.
Ventura has been questioned, explained, frequently paused, and seeks two breaks in the afternoon. When asked why she kept going and arranged for a “freak-off,” Ventura replied, “Good question. I wanted to make him happy.”
“All 'Freak Off' was directed by Sean. He knew exactly where he wanted lights and more,” she said, explaining the famous baby oil that was found in his home during the federal attack last year. “So in that first session we just got close and we had to oil each other in the end.”
She testified, hoping that she and her hired escorts would “glow.” A total of 10 large bottles of baby oil were used. The damage to several hotel rooms in New York, LA and Miami was astronomical, she said.
“Freak-off” lasted several hours or up to four days, and proceeded to mutual masturbation progression between Ventura and the hired male escort, then oral sex, and finally to fucking. Overseeing every moment, choosing staff, choosing lighting setups and instructing, beginning with candlelight, but proceeding to multi-colored LEDs. The rap mogul will see this unfold and masturbate while barking orders, which will often lead the escorts to lose their erections, Ventura said from the stands. This was the result of adjusting something in the room and hearing the sounds of his recognizable voice, she explained.
Once the session was over, Ventura and Comb left the exit, taking drugs and quiet together in another room. It is often repeated over and over with new escorts. In tears, Ventura told the court when she asked that the only thing she liked about “freak-off” was “time spent with him.”
“I was tired. I was humiliated. I had no words to summarise what I was really terrifying at that point, and I couldn't tell anyone about it,” Ventura added.
Headshots of several male escorts were shown to the court as Ventura named them and explained how often they participated in the “freak-off.” Some men became regulars, she said. One of the men was known as the “punisher,” the court heard.
Combs eventually began filming “freak-off” without informing her or asking for consent, and Ventura testified, adding that her devices sometimes “because they were there,” and that if they saw them later, they would soon remove them. She said having them on the phone made her feel bad because the videos were “not good” and “humiliating.”
At one point, Ventura was asked why she didn't just play for the comb, but what did she do to stop taking part in the “freak-off.”
“I didn't want to upset him or make him angry if I shared it,” she explained. “But I stomped lightly when I raised it. I occasionally emailed him about it. I didn't want to do anything wrong.”
Ventura's testimony continues Wednesday. The exam is set to last for 8 weeks.
On Tuesday, Judge Arun Subramanian refused a joint application from news media for a “freak-off” video seized by the federal government to be played in public courts, as media outlets could explain. In his decision, he said this would retroactively trace Ventura and another Didi accuser. Many of the ju-deciding decisions surrounding combs' guilt lie in the forced nature of “freak-off,” so the press sought the ability to help the public understand what's in the video evidence.
