Twilight Star Christen Stewart spilled beans in his first experience directing a film.
The film, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, received a four-minute standing ovation on May 16th.
The Oscar nominee shared during “Fireside Chat” where the nonprofit broke through the lens and hosted Variety What challenges do women face when making movies?
“There’s this Bulls. There’s something like experience and technical proficiency, there’s a mistake that needs to protect your business. That’s the real male perspective,” Stewart said of the barriers to women’s paths when robbing the captain of a ship.
“It’s as if this was difficult. Anyone can make a film if they have something to say.”
The California-born star has thwarted the expectations that he must learn skills.
The American actress also hinted that she would not immediately empty her director’s seat. “…I can’t wait for the next one.”
The former Robert Pattinson co-star made the shocking claim that finding funding for a film is truly “the hardest thing to make a film.”
For Unversed, the film, an adaptation of the 2011 memoir of the same name by author Lidia Yuknavitch, stars the lead role of Imogen Poots.
Flick chronicles Yunavich’s life over 40 years, “while finding her voice through written words and salvation as a swimmer, and ultimately becoming a victory teacher, mother and singular modern writer.”
The film took about seven years to complete.
