Maidan Box Office Collection Day 7: Directed by Amit Ravindanath Sharma, the film also stars Priyamani, Rudranil Ghosh and others.
Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Maidan’ has been struggling at the box office since its release a week ago. The film grossed Rs 4.5 billion on its first day, but then started to decline and earned Rs 2.75 billion on its second day. However, there was a spike over the weekend, with the sports drama bringing in Rs 5.75 billion on Saturday and Rs 6.4 billion on Sunday, an increase of over 100 per cent.
Maidan faced further decline on Monday and barely managed to collect Rs 1,500 crore. He then earned Rs 1.6 billion and Rs 2 billion on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, according to industry tracker Saknik. The total collection in India now stands at Rs 2,710 crore. Maidan The overall Hindi share on Wednesday was 14.30%. The film clashed with Akshay Kumar starrer Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan at the box office. Director Ali Abbas Zafar has so far collected Rs 4,820 crore at the box office in India, but this too has struggled.

‘Maidaan’ was Ajay’s weakest opening since ‘Runaway 34’ in 2022. “Runaway 34” managed to collect 22 billion rupees in one week and 32.96 billion rupees from the entire theatrical run. On the other hand, Ajay’s Drishyam 2 minted Rs 140 crore after his week.
It is unclear whether the film will be eligible for the Cinema Lover’s Day offer, with multiplexes selling tickets for Rs 99 on April 19. However, with the release of ‘Love Sex Aur Dhoka 2’ and ‘Door Do Pyaar’ on the same day, the competition is likely to become even more intense. Maidan, which also stars Priyamani in a key role, is based on the life of Syed Abdul Rahim, the soccer coach who led the Indian soccer team to glory in the 1950s and 1960s.
Indian Express film critic Shubhra Gupta gave the film 2.5 stars. Part of the review read, “Ajay Devgn plays Syed Abdul Rahim with characteristic sincerity, with just a touch of slow-motion swagger. It has a heart-wrenchingly mixed composition.”
