a Nigerian-American singer Timilehin Akinsola, aka Miss Timilehin, expressed her reason for setting up with Afrobeat when she released the title of her latest single. Confidence.
The track, Miss Timilehin’s third single, follows her other songs –All my love and run– and is said to be “a song that stirs up the soul, repeating the singer’s determination to take over the world with her Afrobeat songs.”
In a recent chat with journalists, Miss Timilehin said that despite being relatively new to the game, he is ready to make his mark and take over the Afrobeat genre.
She said, “I’m here to make my mark and take over with the Afrobeat. I’ve been singing for the rest of my life, but when I made the decision to become a professional, Afrobeat was my go-to medium. I like beats and heavy drums.
“Michael Jackson, Fella Anillapo Kuti and Bob Marley burned the genre trails, but it was my earliest influence in music. I aim to follow their path in dedication, commitment and creativity.”
The cute singer pointed out that all her songs were created to reflect her personal experiences and cultural insights.
She added that she hasn’t worked with other artists yet, but she looks forward to having a duet with Mavins star Lema.
