Nawazuddin Siddiqui has established himself as one of the most highly regarded Indian actors of his generation. He also works with some of the biggest stars in the industry, including Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. In a recent interview, he spoke about his experience working with Salman and also gave him two cents on the failure of Salman’s latest film Sikandar.
While promoting the film Costao on Lallantop’s YouTube channel, the actor from The Gangs of Wasseypur defended Salman with a glorious performance at the box office in Sikandar. “The responsibility should not fall only on Bhai (Salman Khan). The maker should work hard to give the film its essence and quality. He puts everything on the plate for you, but if the director doesn’t function properly, we can’t hold the superstars responsible.

He continued, “The speciality of a superstar lies in its ability to turn a regular film into a big appeal, whether it has its essence or not. When someone like Salman Khan signs up to do a film, the director’s responsibility increases as he has all these fans on you assorted all these fans.”
When asked about working with Salman in Bajrangi Baijan, Nawaz called him a “farak dir” (big) person. “He is very passionate about his work and is also a very actor, so I always enjoy working with him. During Bajrangi Baijaan, he gave me a line during the scene and said, “Tu bol yeh dialogue.”
