Famous for his incredible roles in films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Nawazuddin Siddiqui proves his versatility not only as an actor, but as an acting leader. The actor is best known for his groundbreaking performances, but one lesser known fact about him is that he helped prepare for his Bollywood debut in the band Baaja Baaraat (2010).
In a recent interview with Pink Villa, Nawazdin shared insights into his career and his experiences before his career surged in Gang of Wassepool (2012). When asked about his role in Ranveer Singh’s debut film, Nawazdin said, “For a while, I was training him. I became a guy who frequently attended workshops. If I wanted to be an actor, I was a go-to person.”
Nawazdin’s role in guiding Ranveer was part of his wider involvement in the acting workshop. He often provided guidance and training and enthusiastic support for the actors by sharing his knowledge and experience. However, when asked whether he could trust Ranveer’s success, Nawazuddin quickly revealed his stance.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui added that Ranveer Singh is a very good actor and he cannot teach his acting like a magic potion. He explained that the craft must be discovered from within. Although there can be many different approaches, Nawazdin believes that this journey will ultimately require you to walk alone, highlighting the importance of personal talent and self-discovery in acting.
Now Nawazudin is seen in the film Costao, where he plays the role of Costao Fernandez, a customs officer based in Goa. Director Sejal Shah, this film is a biographical drama in which Priya Bapat, Kishore, Hussain Dalal and Mahika Sharma also play a pivotal role. The film is streamed on Zee5.
Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is busy with his upcoming project, Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar. The film is a spice thriller in the world of Indian intelligence agency, and Ranveer is reportedly portraying an R&AW agent. The film also features a powerful ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Akshay Kanna.
