In 2018, Netflix cancelled “Daredevil” three seasons after Disney regained its Marvel anti-hero rights ahead of Disney’s launch of Disney+.
Seven years later, Charlie Cox and Vincent Donofrio are back on the small screen for a new adventure in the Daredevil: Born series Daredevil: Born, which season 3 showrunner Eric Oleson is due to go.
“I’m very excited that the show is back in another network. It’s so weird. As a showrunner, you’re ready to cancel the show. You’re not necessarily prepared for the studio. [to be canceled]. That was very strange,” Oleson told TheWrap.
“Season 4 I was planning was completely different. It was a story of Mary with typhoid fever. It was going to go in a different direction. And I was going to go back to the Bullseye storyline for Season 5,” he continued. “I was beginning to plan for a future season and what we’d do, and of course, Netflix and Marvel broke up because Disney+ wanted Marvel.”
Despite not being part of the creative team behind “Born Again,” Oleson said he was excited to meet his former series friends back to work and cheered on from the bystanders.
“I just watched the first episode. I was busy so I’m in the back. [The Bondsman]He said. “I had dinner with Vincent Danofrio a few weeks ago. The cast, all my friends there, their families seem very excited and they’ve already begun another season of that show. So I’m happy to hear that the family exists, and I’m watching as a fan.”
In addition to Cox and Danofrio, Daredevil: Reborn is a re-released role in Deborah Anne Wolf as Karen Page, seeing Frank Castle and Elden Henson return as Nelson of the Fog, while Ailet Zar returns as Kingpin’s wife Vanassa Fisk and Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Point Dexter.
New faces brought to live action of the series from Marvel Comics include Nikki James as Kirsten McDuffy, Margarita Revieva as Heather Glenn and Camerderos Reyes as Hector Ayala/White Tiger. Michael Gandolfini also portrays Daniel Blake, a young member of Wilson Fisk’s election team.
“Daredevill: Born Again” is an executive produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Sana Amanat, Chris Gary, Showrunner’s Dario Scardapane, Christopher Ord & Matthew Corman, and directors Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead. Other directors include Michael Questa, Jeffrey Nachmanoff and David Boyd.
