April has officially arrived. Spring is in the air, and Paramount+ is dropping some amazing cinema gems that everyone can look forward to this month.
Are you looking for a drama that will make you shed some tears? How about a live-action animated flick with the NBA Megastar? Or is it a creepy scary movie that keeps you in the night? Paramount+ got everything from a woman-led flick to one of Martin Scorsese’s best films.
Paramount+ boasts a fresh slate with several new titles, but TheWrap wanted to offer a selection of seven films you definitely have to add to your watchlist. Here are some of the best new movies from Paramount+:
“Girls are interrupted” (Colombia photo)
“Girls, interrupted” (1999)
The first on the list is James Mangold’s “Girl, suspended.” Based on the true events that lived by author Susanna Keisen, the film focuses on the experiences of young women after she was hospitalized in a mental facility for a troubled young woman. While there, she must decide between the relationship she has built in the mental ward and the harsh challenges that come with life in everyday society.
“Space Jam” (Warner Bros.)
“Space Jam” (1996)
What I liked sports was also having to throw a good family flick on the list. Before LeBron James was brought to the world of the Rooney Tunes, Michael Jordan had to appear in the monsters in the ultimate basketball game.
“Gang of New York” (Photo of Miramax, Touchstone)
“Gangs in New York” (2002)
One of Martin Scorsese’s most popular films, Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Amsterdam. After he is released from prison, he sets out to revenge his father’s death by infiltrating the bill into the butcher organization. The film, held in New York in the 1860s, is loosely inspired by the 5 Points district event.
“Harriet the Spy” (Paramount Pictures)
“Harriet the Spy” (1996)
Another great watch for parents and children is “Harriet the Spy.” Apart from being a student, family comedy leads her life as a spy, hosts daily events at school, documenting her innermost thoughts about her classmates. However, when the secrets in her notebook are revealed, she has to find a way to gain her respect and the trust of her friends.
“The Caddy Shack” (Paramount+)
“The Caddy” (1953)
It goes back to the 1950s with the following title, “The Caddy.” classic comedy stars Jerry Lewis, Dean Martin and Donna Reed. Lewis stars as a shy yet skilled golfer. Harvey urges his goofy friend Joe (Dean Martin) to enlist as a golf tournament caddy. However, after a series of hilarious yet unfortunate events, Harvey begins to regret his decision. “The Caddy” is one of many films that Martin and Lewis have made together in their careers.
“Ring” (Photo of Dreamworks)
“Ring” (2002)
Your list needs a good horror movie that can be used to keep the lights on at night. For us, the flick is “The Ring,” an American remake of the Japanese horror film “Ringu.” In Gore Verbinski’s cold movies, everyone has heard a videotape. Newspaper reporter Rachel Keller is also skeptical, but her interest grows after the deaths of four teenagers who saw the tape. Rachel succumbs to her curiosity and watches the tape. Now she only has seven days to solve the mystery of the evil tape.
“Four Brothers” (Photo by Paramount)
“Four Brothers” (2005)
John Singleton’s action-packed and heartwarming film, “The Four Brothers,” tells the story of an adopted group who bans together after their mother is killed. But they also need to avoid the attention of hot cops on their trails.
