As wisdom The Hollywood Reporter News was just shared in late May that anyone wanting to get their career or name out there should listen to former NFL player Shannon Sharpe's podcast. Club Shay Shay. Now, it's happening again, this time with singer and former sex tape star Ray J, who has mused about the ramifications of his sex tape with Kim Kardashian and offered some philosophical thoughts about humanity.
Not only did Ray J star in an early sex tape game encounter with Kardashian that was filmed in 2003 and released in 2007, but he's also a musician currently promoting his new single, “Throwing Stacks.” But the former topic got the 43-year-old father of two thinking about the aftermath of his famous sex tape. Kim Kardashian, SuperstarThis made the Kardashian family extremely famous.
“How different would all of us be?” Ray J asked, when asked about life without a sex tape. “How different would this whole shit be? How different would this industry be? Everything would be different. There would probably be no OnlyFans or anything like that. All of those opportunities would be gone. More people would probably go to college.”
This led to VH1's featured player, Ray J. Love & Hip Hop The younger brother of singer and actress Brandy, he's philosophical.
“Are we part of the treatment or [are] “Are we part of the disease?” he asked. “I don't know, but I'm just trying to fix it.”
Sharp asked Ray J if he felt embarrassed now about the tape, which may be the one he's best known for, despite his moderate singing success prior to its release, and he replied, with uncharacteristic seriousness, “Yes, I'm embarrassed,” especially about his children, Melody Love, and his son, Epic Ray.
“I have kids now. Everything I do is so different when I have kids. It's all weird. It's not good for my kids,” Ray J said.
The sex tape not only rocketed Kim Kardashian's career, but it also has its own complicated story. After its release, Ray J said that Kris Jenner had orchestrated its release (a charge Jenner vehemently denies), but years later, The Kardashians Kim learned that Ray J's former manager, Whack 100, was threatening to release more footage.
Stressed out, Kardashian was at a loss as to how to handle the situation. It was probably a very low moment for her, but it made for great reality TV. Her main ally was rapper, producer, and fashion mogul Kanye West, who scraped together all the footage and delivered it to her in New York. This all aired after Kardashian and West had divorced.
Amazingly, the later footage contained no nudity whatsoever.
