Although Sikandar has been criticised by both the audience and critics, Salman Khan’s star power remains undeniable. Opened in mixed reviews, the film rejects expectations by collecting more than 85 Rs in just three days and is moving forward to become Salman’s 18th RS 100 Croix film.
In the Buzz, a viral clip from one of Salman’s interviews rekindled the conversation about selective support in Bollywood. In an interview with the Bollywood Bubble, the host pointed out that the Hindi film industry is primarily silent about Sikandar, despite Salman’s frequent promotion of films from his colleagues and friends.
In response to this, Salman said, “Unko Aisa lagta hoga ki zaroorat nahin padti mujhe. (Maybe they think they don’t need their support.”) But he quickly added.
Salman then shifted his focus to upcoming releases and recent releases, showing continued support for his peers. He screamed at Sunny Deol’s upcoming mass action film Jaat, scheduled to be released on April 10, 2025. He also mentioned Malayalam Blockbuster L2: Empuraan, starring Mahanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Interestingly, among the Bollywood stars, Sunny Deol publicly promoted Sikandar and posted a social media cry for Salman’s film. Meanwhile, Aamir Khan joined Salman and director AR Murgados in the promotional video, but the general lack of support across the industry has not been noticed.
