Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s tweet has received a lot of criticism on social media, with people calling it a “personal attack” on Adil Hussain. He has also been criticized for his inability to deal with criticism in a healthy way. However, Adil has also received criticism for his comments. Not only Adil, Sandeep also criticized Parvathy Thiruvothu and Javed Akhtar for criticizing Animal.
Appearing on YouTube channel AP Podcast, Adil admitted that he agreed to star Kabir Singh without reading the script first. The actor said, “This is the only movie in my life that I acted in without reading the script or watching the movie it was based on.” Adil went to the theater to watch the movie after it was released and left 20 minutes later, he said. “I regret it till date. The only film I regret doing is that one… Kabir Singh,” he added.
Adil said that Kabir Singh was a “misogynistic” film that made him “feel small as a human being”. Speaking about director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Adil said that everyone has the right to make the films they want to make, but that doesn’t mean you have to agree with them. “I think movies like this glorify something that is not beneficial to society. It justifies male misogyny. And for that matter, it justifies violence against anyone, not necessarily a woman. And it celebrates it and glorifies it, but it shouldn’t be glorified,” he said.
