Victory, the rapper's first LP since 1999's “The Art of Storytelling,” will be released on June 13th through Idris Elba's record label 7 Wallace, and will be released in collaboration with Mass Appeal.
The project, dubbed the “visual album,” features Idris acting as an executive producer alongside Rick, featuring contributions from NAS, Giggs and Estelle.
“Victory is all about patience, storytelling, imagination, evolution. A visual blend of art and mind – a sound journey that reflects where I went and where I go. Winning isn't just music. Slick Rick said in a press release.
The album and the 30-minute short film directed by Meji Arabi (Beyoncé's Helmen) Black is the king), it premiered in its first SXSW London on June 7th, followed by conversations with Slickrick, Elba and Arabi. Tickets are available now here. Please see the trailer below.

In this project, Idris Elba said: “It was a blessing to work with Slick Rick…to go home to the UK and offer something amazing to the hip-hop world. It was a literal gift!
