This role requires a deeper understanding of hip-hop culture to ensure authentic representation in sync opportunities, but also builds connections with SMP artists, producers and labels to promote collaboration and licensing opportunities. This includes providing valuable input on song selection and placement to enhance the emotional impact of the synchronization project, leveraging familiarity with copyright and licensing issues, streamlining negotiations and minimizing legal complications, particularly with regard to sample and interpolation. Through regular attendance at A&R meetings, we promote strong relationships with the frontline A&R departments, ensure cross-collaboration of selective songwriters, participate in studios and other music production sessions, providing comprehensive creative feedback from a sync perspective. Develop and deliver initiatives that provide creative opportunities for frontline hip hop and R&B songwriters and their catalogs, negotiate and issue approvals or quotations for high-level synchronous transactions in films, television, trailers, promotions and other media, and manage the robust roster of A-level clients to meet customer requests. Effective communication with writers' approval parties and real estate is essential, as is the ability to partner with the entire internal sector and with external stakeholders. The role also understands the catalog's strategic pricing, synchronization history and pricing structure, pitch the SMP catalog to A-level clients, ensure placement, collaborate with SMP artists to create original songs and cover syncs, and participate in showcases, concerts, and other events that communicate with the songwriter and their management team.
