After Superman’s Dog Crypto flashes across the screen in the first trailer for James Gunn Superman Back in December, Steel’s puppies returned to Sneak Peak, extended with the upcoming DC Studios film, arriving on July 11th.
Originally debuting at Cinemacon in Las Vegas earlier this week, the clip reveals that David Corenswet’s Superman suffered and bloody in the frozen tundra. The dark outlook snows at the Cryptonian, dragging the superhero into the Fortress of Solitary, where the cape’s massive Quippy robot is ready to administer a healthy dose.

The rest of the video offers more glimpses of cancer-oriented films, including Lex Luthor, played by Nicholas Holt, and Superman, who shares a gravitational kiss with Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane. The trailer also features shots of Hawk Girl (Isabella Merced), Mr. Triffy (Eddie Gutage), Metamorpho (Anthony Currigan), and Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion).
“There’s a lot of these things in this film. I’ve made them for over a year now, which I think is normal. But now I’ve shared, ‘Oh, oh yeah, that’s pretty rare’ earlier this year, on Press Junket. “We started in the middle of the action. Superman already exists. Lois and Clark already know each other. Rex hates Superman’s courage from the start, but they don’t know each other personally, but they start mid-way through the action. It happens in a short amount of time.”
When we discussed this week at Cinema Con about how his own dog, Ozou, inspired the furry crusaders, Gunn recalled that Oz had bitten his laptop and shoes and wreaked havoc around the house. “I was like, ‘Oh my god, what if this dog had a superpower? I’m a mess,'” Gunn said. “And he said, ‘Now I know what I’m going to do with Superman.’ ”
