Fawad Khan is set to make a comeback in the Hindi film industry in almost nine years. The teaser for his Hindi film Abir Gulaal was dropped a few days ago and the response was surprising. The romantic comedy features Vaani Kapoor as the lead. Since the teaser was released, there has been a renewed discussion about Pakistani artists working in Hindi films.
Recently, Sushmita Sen was asked about her views on Fawad Khan’s comeback at Bollywood. The actress was discovered at an event with her ex-boyfriend, Roman Scholl. When asked about Pakistani actors, including Fawad Khan, Sen told Instant Bollywood, “Dekhiye, Mujhe itna sab nahi pata. Hai, aur ek humani creative field hai jahan Our creativity comes from freedom.
When asked if she was open to filming Pakistani films, Sushi replied, “I always do good movies, it doesn’t matter where it comes from.”

Abir Gulaal is directed by Aarti S Bagdi and produced by Vivek Agarwal and Firuzi Khan. The film will be released in theaters on May 9, 2025. Fawad’s last Hindi film was “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil”. Directed by Karan Johar, he also starred Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma.
