The Internet Can’t Stop Speaking Series is a new K-drama from Streamer, a 16-episode slice of life series. It is divided into four volumes that delve into love, loss and everything in between. Set on Jeju Island, Korea, the show follows childhood lovers Oh ae-sun and Yang Gwan-Sik over the course of 50 years. It’s raw, it’s real, yes, it’s probably going to cry harder than you’ve ever thought.
Created by Lim Sang-Choon and directed by Kim Won-Seok, The Show features popular actress and singer IU as AE-Sun, Park Bo-Gum as Gwan-Sik.
The show hit Netflix on March 7th, but has since been a global success. According to Entertainment Weeklythe series is currently in the top 10 most watched shows on Netflix in over 40 countries.

Perhaps beyond watching the success of the show, what most shows the success of the show is the amount of discourse drummed online, where viewers flood Reddit threads and social media platforms, sharing how the series “broke” them.

Conversation with ForbesIU and Bo-Gum shared their thoughts on why the relationship between the two characters, AE-Sun and Gwan-Sik, resonated so strongly with the audience.
“It has that romantic love aspect, but there is also the strong, immortal love that occurs between humans and humans, just as life is shared between humans and humans,” IU said. “They depend on each other, they depend on each other, and they are each one’s greatest support. We all dream of such love.
