Timbaland is back with a new album, but that’s not something that many might have expected. Virginia’s legendary Virginia Beach is back this weekend. Timbo’s progress. There are uncredited vocalists on the track, but this tape is primarily focused on creating the beat of things. Rhythms, grooves, and (probably) native instruments, especially percussive instruments, are what Timbo wants all listeners to zone-in. He has long been the king of making fascinating melodies and has been a hit throughout his years-long career. Therefore, despite not being in his comfort zone on this album, the “strong” engineer still offers many victory ideas here: “moving the soul.”
That was a highlight for Timbaland. He wrote after teasing Timbo’s progress On his Instagram, “Progress. Rhythm, percussion instrumentation is essential to everyday life.” He also concluded, “This project is a journey of culture and soul, and the way I listen to music.” He concluded, “It’s a truly amazing experience I think the world needs and I think I enjoyed it as much as I made it.” He and Swiz Beats, whom he praises as executive producers, can be said to have been caught up in African musical culture as all the instrumentals here are done classy. It may not be what OG fans wanted from him, but again, what’s the problem with getting out of their comfort zone and evolving? He’s been following this path recently as his latest tape, yellowcollaborated with melodic handpan musician Malte Marten. Together, they created an incredibly soothing, meditative Sonic background.
