Video Game Hollywood's “The Last Us” writers need to adapt to

While “The Last of Us” season 2 is coming to an end, the Hollywood video game renaissance is only just beginning as HBO’s Mushroom Apocalypse officially greenlights more episodes than source material. “Minecraft Movie” revolved around the sun, which earned money at the box office this spring. I met the Midling to Bad Review. “Until Dawn” has regained my budget.

“I think you’re watching a lot of mining in the most popular games right now,” Neil Druckman told Indiewire. Head of Naughty Dog, a video game studio. He co-written the record-breaking “The Last of Us Part II” with Halle Gross.

“But there are a lot of small games in a very beautiful niche,” said Druckman, who is also the executive producer and co-creator of Craig Mazin on the “The Last of Us” television show. Former “Westworld” creative Gross wrote several episodes alongside the showrunner and Druckman.

“Games do a beautiful job of immersing you in different worlds,” Gross told Indywire. “There is a distinction between the medium, between games, between movies and television, but at the end of the day it’s about experiencing something outside of you and broadening your horizons.”

Emphasizing the importance of indie games for indie movie sites, Druckman and Gross provided some game adaptations that they wanted to be translated to big screens and TV.

“The game, called ‘Inside’, is one of the best stories I’ve experienced in any medium,” he said. “Similarly there’s this game called “ICO,” “Colussus Shadow,” and “The Last Guardian.” This is this trilogy by this director’s genius and I want to find a larger audience if people have no other reason than to talk about them. Druckmann also mentioned card games.

“Oh my god, he loves ‘Baratoro’,” Gross laughed. “Hopefully our show will tell people, ‘Hey, wait, what kind of game will be like that? Now I’m intrigued and now I’m doing something new. Maybe I’m trying out the ‘Ghost of Tsushima’ or ‘God of War’. It’s really exciting to bring these two together. ”

She continues, “We’re in this really interesting renaissance of game adaptation. Our hope is that ‘our end’ is this bridge. “Sales for both games rose significantly after the show.

Looking ahead, Freddie’s Five Nights and Mortar Combat will return later this year with a sequel set for fall. Plus, you’ll get bigger adaptations like “Sims” and “Assassin’s Creed” as well as “Super Mario Bros. Movies”, “Angry Birds” and “Sonic the Hedgehog.”

Asked about one of the most famous children’s racing titles in Naughty Dog, a major favorite of the 90s non-Nintendo family, Druckmann had bad news about the future of the “Crash Bandicoot” movie.

“We don’t own ‘Crash Bandicoot’ so here’s what I’m going to break your heart,” Druckman said. “Crash Bandicoot” is owned by Microsoft. So, Naughty Dog created “Crash Bandicoot” but asks Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox. I ask you to make a “Crash Bandicoot” movie.

“The Last of Us” Season 2 will air a new episode on HBO and Max Sunday night at 9pm.
