What to do in Hollywood?

In Los Angeles, cars complete the exterior. This is the last clothing we put on before we head out, an accessory like shoes, and it is a personal and functional need at once. Our cars are intended to witness every Tesla in Netflix lot, filled with “Elon Sucks” style bumper stickers, even our achievements, our sense of self, and our political and social beliefs. But they are our Wakanda, a sanctuary, decorating and enriching us with voyages between homes, jobs, meetings and social engagements.

The streets and highways in LA become catwalks, with almost all of them being critics at Anna Wintour level, from Musso and Frank’s Barrett to the man waiting for his boss on the bench at the bus stop.

Not as true as the entertainment industry, where everything about LA is distilled to its essence. Consider the excellence of vintage cars in Apple TV+ satire studio, Seth Rogen’s Peacocking Studio Head parades with MGs, Corvettes, Studebakers and more.

So, what are Hollywood Drive’s A-listers and top executives? Vehicle options change frequently within this set, but current preferences tend to revolve around familiar luxury brands, mostly modern but vintage, besides stunning outliers.

SUVs dominate as they do in other parts of the United States, but sports cars and luxury sedans have places to expect and oversized. As this is LA, there are a lot of electrified vehicles. And the new trend is represented by a few exceptions: stealth wealth. Some celebrities have seen the benefits of driving Normcore vehicles that do not attract the attention of fans, paparazzi and potential stalkers.

Of course, most of these choices are just one of many vehicles that those people can own and drive or be driven. After all, every car is essentially a drug. We are don and doff to create personas and challenge us (sometimes at the same time). And it should be celebrated.
