Karina Kapoor on Bollywood’s Nepotism
When asked about her thoughts on being called “the ultimate insider” and “the ultimate privileged girl,” Karina said, “We’re not used to understanding what the situation is. We’re used to attacking people from privileged backgrounds. Whether they’re elitists or not. It happened in just nepotism – it’s impossible.”
Karina pointed out that being a Starkid doesn’t guarantee success in the film industry. She said there are many examples of superstar kids who couldn’t make the mark. The audience created us. No one else is making us. The same people pointing their fingers are making these negative stars, right? You’re going to watch the movie. Don’t go – no one is forcing you. ”
Karina further stated that most of Bollywood’s biggest stars (Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan, Rajkummar Rao, etc.) are all outsiders and they work hard. But likewise, whether it’s Aria Batt or herself, they’re working so hard, and it’s the audience who can make and break them.
